Maple Wind Farm
After paying off their second VFF loan earlier this summer, Maple Wind Farm was ready for their next set of Business Builder projects: purchasing a used refrigerated delivery truck and portable livestock scales and a chute that they can move from farm to farm for their grass-fed beef. They will also use a portion of the funds to improve feeding and storage systems for their hogs. The Tobb wagon is 3.5 tons of grain storage on wheels which makes it easier to move livestock to different pastures daily. Automated poultry feed lines will make feeding the layer hens much more efficient and less labor-intensive and allow for expansion of the layer flock to meet increased winter demand.
