Hartshorn's Farm Market

Though maple syrup production has been a part of Hartshorn’s Farm for decades, it wasn’t until 2016 that Dave Hartshorn decided to invest in the business to make it an agritourism destination. With the help of a $10k Business Builder Loan from the Vermont Farm Fund, Dave opened his roadside sugar house with upgraded production equipment and stepped-up promotion. The sugar house will help Hartshorn’s improve its bottom line with increased direct-to-consumer maple syrup sales, including tasty maple confections.

Hartshorn’s was one of the Vermont Farm Fund’s very first borrowers, after Tropical Storm Irene.
